What If My Goods Arrive Damaged?
If
your goods arrive damaged and you have the opportunity to refuse
delivery that is the easiest way. If the packaging looks seriously
damaged, just send it away again and the company will replace
quickly because you have never accepted the
goods.
If
you do accept the goods and find out later that they are faulty,
you need to refer to the shops returns policy. They have legal
obligations to replace faulty goods so make sure you stand your
ground if they try and give you any difficulties when getting
goods returned and replaced.
In
our experience most online shops are very willing to help in
all cases where anything has been damaged on route, or the wrong
items have been sent. One of the benefits of the internet for
a customer is that the shops need to keep customers coming back,
and keep them happy as the word about a bad shop can spread like
wild-fire online, and that is a risk that they can't afford to
take.
On
the whole, shopping online should be a relaxing and enjoyable
experience, and most of the merchants that we've had experience
of have been every bit as professional and customer focused as
their offline counterparts (and in many cases more so) so don't
be afraid to get out there and give it a go, you'll be pleased
you did!
